Multiple desktop-environment optimisations, kernel-hardware compatibility upgrades, security patches and multi-architecture adaptation work were completed in July, alongside continuous expansion of the Linyaps app ecosystem.

Community Product

deepin 25.2.0 Official Image Release: Improved Usability for Treeland and Text-Based Image Search within File Manager

The deepin 25.2.0 stable image was officially published on July 8. This release prioritises Treeland desktop-environment stability and usability, file-manager search performance, DDE interaction optimisation and bug fixes for frequently-used scenarios.

Treeland Desktop-Environment Upgrade

More than 20 stability and interaction-related defects have been fixed. Full-scale adaptation with core DDE components is complete. Common desktop features covering input devices, display configuration, personalisation settings, and power management have been refined.

Enhanced File-Manager and Search Features

Customisable file-indexing settings allow users to strike a balance between search speed and system-resource consumption. Local image search by embedded text is available after manual index activation in file-manager preferences. Improvements have also been made to global search, shared-folder access and external-storage support.

Optimised DDE Desktop Experience

The task-bar icon split mode displays standalone icons for separate windows, making it easier to distinguish opened instances for instant-messaging software, mini-programs and document windows. A multi-monitor splicing mode has been added to display settings. Smart mirror-source selection is supported for system updates. Iterations cover notifications, network configurations, the application launcher and task-bar interactions.

Kernel and Security Improvements

The 6.6 and 6.18 kernel branches received maintenance releases for enhanced underlying stability, security and new-hardware compatibility. System-update modules, Qt6, PipeWire, initramfs, virtualisation components and other foundational packages were updated with multiple security patches.

Polished Built-in Applications

Regular system utilities including the terminal, archive manager, mail client, image viewer, photo album, music player, media player, camera, font manager, screenshot recorder, log viewer, input\u001emethod configurator and voice memo tool received bug fixes for rendering faults, interaction defects, compatibility failures and stability crashes.

Xiao-U Assistant: Scheduled-Task Function Released and Cross-Session Search Enabled

Major upgrades arrived for Xiao-U Assistant in July, transforming the standalone utility into an AI work assistant for long-term workflow assistance:

Timed automated tasks: Users can configure preset instructions to run at designated times. Tasks will execute automatically and deliver results once auto-approval is toggled-on.

Upgraded conversation memory: The system automatically compresses and summarises lengthy dialogue history to prevent slowdowns. Natural-language search retrieves records across separate chat sessions.

Quick-skill invocation via slash commands: Type "/" inside the MCP & Skills input box to rapidly search and call built-in capabilities and cut down operating steps.

Restructured history: record entry for easier access to past conversations.

New deepin AI-Ecosystem Project: deepin-skills Officially Launched

The deepin-skills open-source repository has been published to help artificial-intelligence tools better integrate with the deepin desktop stack. It packages structured skill datasets covering core deepin-development knowledge, including framework specifications, plugin interfaces, engineering practices and common pitfalls. Four primary skills are currently provided: dtk-development, dde-shell-development, dde-control-center-development and dde-tray-development. They cover mainstream desktop-development workflows with 130 verified test cases for reliable AI responses.
