Time flies. It has been two full years since we announced that we were to develop our own desktop environment.<\/p>\n

During this period, there were both support and opposition voices outside, and a small number of people even ridiculed us, saying that there weren\u2019t teams at home who had abilities to develop desktop environment independently at all and we would only conduct some simple modifications to the existing desktop environment at best and then bluff people into believing that we would release a \"domestic desktop environment\".<\/p>\n

But we resisted the pressure without any fraud and have been dedicated to hard work. We have not only independently developed Deepin Desktop Environment, but also constantly improved it and therefore we\u2019ve got high praise from users both at home and abroad:<\/p>\n

  1. Deepin Desktop Environment is the first desktop environment built on HTML5 technology in the world.<\/li>\n
  2. Deepin Team is the only Chinese team who can directly build desktop environment on X11.<\/li>\n
  3. Deepin Desktop Environment has been widely ported to other Linux distributions, such as Arch, openSUSE, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Manjaro and Anthon, etc<\/li>\n

    Now, Deepin 2014.1 has been released (equipped with Deepin Desktop Environment 2.0 by default). In this version, we paid more attention to the beauty, details and the custom features of desktop environment. We have basically achieved the goals o Deepin Desktop Environment.<\/p>\n
